Summer Wars Celebrates 10 Years of OZ with Pop-Up Store in Shibuya
Summer Wars, a 2009 theatrical anime film directed by Mamoru Hosoda (Mirai, The Boy and the Beast), is in the process of celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the newest celebration involves a limited time pop-up store in Shibuya that’s packed with new character goods themed after OZ, the virtual reality online environment from the film.
The store features a variety of newly designed goods, ranging from cushions of John and Yoko (the guardians of OZ), to rugs depicting the OZ environment, candy, necklaces, earrings, art pouches, can badges, and (my personal favorite) wooden kokeshi dolls designed to look like the Avatars of Kenji, Natsuki, King Kazuma, and Love Machine (as „Impostor Kenji“).
The Summer Wars pop-up store will be held from January 24 – February 11, 2020, at the Tokyo Otaku Mode TOKYO store, which is located on the 6th floor of the SHIBUYA PARCO shopping mall in Udagawacho, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.
