#Supergirl Sidekick Winn Gets His Own Legion of Super-Heroes Suit in New Photos -BB

Jeremy Jordan’s Winn Schott makes his return to Supergirl and gets his own Legion of Super-Heroes costume in the latest images from season 5. When the show premiered on CBS, Winn was introduced as Kara Danvers‘ tech-savvy friend at CatCo and even designed her original Supergirl costume (after a few revisions, anyway). He was also positioned as a rival for her affections with James Olsen, but the series thankfully abandoned that thread part-way through its first season. Winn eventually left CatCo to go work a job more befitting of his skills at the DEO in season 2, with Supergirl itself following suit by moving to The CW.

The last time viewers saw him, Winn was headed to the 31st Century with Mon-El and Saturn Girl in the season 3 finale, with Brainiac-5 (aka. Brainy) taking his spot at the DEO. Jordan, who left the show to go work on the Broadway play American Son, never intended for his exit to be permanent and officially announced his return in Supergirl season 5 last summer. He’s finally back in this week’s episode and will even have a brand-new superhero outfit to wear for the occasion.

Winn will return to the fold in the upcoming season 5 installment „Back From the Future – Part One“, as he officially joins the Legion of Super-Heroes to battle his evil doppelgänger (who has become the Toyman, like Winn’s father). You can check out his costume in the episode’s photos below.

No doubt, Winn’s evil doppelgänger is somehow linked to the Crisis on Infinite Earths and everything it changed about the Arrowverse. By the look of things, the remainder of Supergirl season 5 will be dedicated to exploring the after-effects of the crossover event, which include rewriting history so Lex Luthor is not only a revered Nobel Peace Prize winner, but also owns and operates the DEO. Presumably, though, Winn will either remember what things were like pre-Crisis when he returns or get a quick memory jogging from J’onn J’onzz to bring him up to speed. Whatever the case, he’s clearly happy to be reunited with his old friends at the DEO, as evidenced by these images of him with Kara, J’onn, and Kara’s sister Alex.

All things considered, now might be the perfect time for Winn to make his return to Supergirl. While the first half of season 5 was somewhat unfocused in the build-up to Crisis, it’s since become clear Lex and Leviathan will be the overarching threats this season. The show hasn’t abandoned the conflict between Kara and Lena Luthor either, with Lena aligning herself with Lex for the time being in spite of knowing everything that happened pre-Crisis (courtesy of a deal Lex made with The Monitor). Between that and Brainy entering a secret alliance with Lex in order to foil his current machinations, Kara and the Legion of Super-Heroes could definitely use an extra hand on-deck.

Supergirl continues with „Back From the Future – Part One“ on Sunday, January 26.
