#The Simpsons: 10 Times Homer And Marge Simpson Were Couple Goals  -BB

You can’t say that Homer and Marge Simpson have the perfect marriage. Their relationship has faced several obstacles and challenges throughout the show’s history, most of them caused by Homer. But despite the odds, Homer and Marge have still survived as a couple. For us, they’re one of the most inspiring couples on television because their love for each other is stronger than anything they have to face.

Over the course of The Simpsons, there have been a few moments that highlight the strong bond between Homer and Marge and make us support them as a couple all the more. Check out these 10 times when Homer and Marge were couple goals.

10 Marge Sings To Homer

We can all agree that there are endless moments in The Simpsons when Marge should just divorce Homer and stop putting up with all his impossible flaws. But the reason she doesn’t is she loves him so much. That’s why we love moments like this, in Simpson and Delilah, when Marge sings to Homer in bed.

Even though he’s lost his newfound hair and confidence, she lets him know that even though he’s bald, she finds him beautiful. Forget couple goals—this is enough to make you cry!

9 Marge Convinces Homer To Come Back To Her

One of the best episodes that showcase the formidable relationship between Homer and Marge is Season Three’s I Married Marge. It tells the story of how Homer and Marge came to be married and the obstacles they encountered along the way. Most of their challenges revolved around Homer not making enough money to provide for Marge.

At one point in the retelling, Homer leaves Marge because he doesn’t feel worthy of being with her and sets out to find a job. Marge is devastated when she finds out and begs him to come back, telling him that she doesn’t need nice things to be happy.

8 Their Rendition Of ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head’

Homer and Marge have many sweet moments over the course of the show that make us appreciate their relationship and stand behind them as a couple. One that always comes to mind is in the episode Duffless, where they both sing ‘Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head’. To make it even more romantic, they’re riding off into the sunset on Lisa’s bike as they sing.

Both Homer and Marge forget the words to the song, but that makes it even more romantic. It just reinforces how perfect for each other they really are!

7 Their Moments Before Homer’s Death (Or So They Think)

In the episode One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish, the family becomes convinced that Homer is going to die after he eats a seemingly poisoned blowfish at a Japanese restaurant. Homer creates a list of things that he wants to achieve in the time he has left to live, and one of them is to ‘be intamit with Marge’.

As they get in bed together, Marge recites Homer a poem before they share their intimate evening. Of course, at this point, we don’t know that Homer is actually going to survive, so it’s really difficult to watch!

6 Their Second Wedding

The show gives us a few varying descriptions of what Homer and Marge’s wedding was like, but all of them give us the idea that it was a fairly low-key affair. Marge definitely didn’t get the dream wedding day that she might have been dreaming of. So it’s such a memorable moment when Homer sets up a second wedding for himself and Marge in the family living room.

In the Season Eight episode A Milhouse Divided, Homer organizes the affair after divorcing Marge so he can give her a fresh start to their marriage.

5 Marge Picks Homer Up After Prom

Marge and Homer’s original wedding might not have been anything too romantic, but their experience on prom night was definitely one of the most memorable moments in the show’s history. In the episode The Way We Was, Marge tells the kids how she and Homer first met. She recalls meeting him in high school and after getting to know him, decides to go to the prom with Artie Ziff.

Homer still goes to the prom alone and ends up walking home in the mud when he can no longer afford the limo he organized for Marge. Then Marge, who dumped Artie at the prom, drives past and picks him up, telling him he was really who she wanted to go to prom with.

4 Their Meeting In Detention

In the same episode, we get to see how Homer and Marge originally met in detention. While Homer was a detention regular, Marge was there for the first time when they met. From the moment Homer set eyes on her, he was hooked.

This moment always makes us feel like Homer and Marge are truly soulmates. Homer loved Marge from the second he saw her and became determined to win over her heart. And though Marge had other dating prospects, she ultimately chose Homer over people who were more intelligent.

3 Marge Surprises Homer At Work

Many of the best moments in Simpsons history are actually based on iconic scenes from pop culture. One of our favorites takes place in the episode Life in the Fast Lane, where Marge nearly chooses to be with a French bowling instructor named Jacques over Homer.

In the end, she decides that her commitment to Homer is too strong and goes to see him at the Nuclear Power Plant instead of going to Jacque’s apartment. The scene, which resembles An Officer and a Gentleman, sees Homer carrying Marge out to his car in front of all his work friends. We love happy endings!

2 Homer Chooses Marge Over Lurleen Lumpkin

Both Marge and Homer are tempted by other people over the course of the show. In the episode Colonel Homer, Homer takes an aspiring country singer named Lurleen Lumpkin under his wing and acts as her manager. Lurleen develops feelings for Homer and tries to seduce him, but he ultimately decides to return to Marge, whom he truly loves.

Marge spends a lot of time in this episode feeling insecure about Homer’s relationship with Lurleen, but his actions reinforce that he will always choose her, no matter what other options he has.

1 Their Reunion In The Lighthouse

The only time that Homer seriously questions whether or not he’s meant to end up with Marge is in the episode The Mysterious Voyage of Homer, where he embarrasses her at the state chili cook off. Even though Marge thinks Homer is drunk, he’s really reacting to an extremely strong pepper that he ate, which eventually causes him to become delusional.

Homer meets a talking coyote (voiced by Johnny Cash) who tells him that he needs to find his soulmate. After questioning whether he’s really meant to be with Marge, Homer decides that they are soulmates, and they share a kiss in the lighthouse which broadcasts their silhouettes into the sky.
