#Dropkick on My Devil! Anime Received a Massive 180 Million Yen via Hometown Tax Donations -BB

The official website for the Dropkick on My Devil! anime series announced today that it had received a massive 180 million yen via Chitose-city’s hometown tax project by December 31, 2019, in 29 days since its launch. The amount is already nine times more than the project’s initial goal of 20 million yen. 

As reported, the project was launched by Chitose-city in Hokkaido to collect the production budget for the Jashin-chan anime’s extra episode „Chapter Chitose“ on December 2, 2019. The reason the city with 97,500 population launched the project was that Aina Suzuki, the voice of the protagonist Jashin-chan, was born in the city in 1995.

The project easily reached its goal of 20 million yen only in four days, and its momentum never slowed down until the last day of the project, December 31. Now the anime franchise has enough money to make at least nine extra episodes?

As the first memorial event for the success of the project, „Kita Sabbat 2“ is planned to be held on April 11, 2020. In addition to a screening of the extra episode, a newly-recorded song „CHI☆TO☆SE Aika (Love Song)“ (tentative title) by Aina Suzuki (Jashin-chan) and Miharu Hanai (Lierre) will be performed on the stage for the first time.

– Furusato Nouzei/Hometown Tax is a system in Japan that allows taxpayers who live in urban areas to contribute to rural areas with subtraction from income tax and residence tax, and the cities send their local products to donors in return. Furusato means hometown in Japanese, but in addition to their own hometown, taxpayers can pay tax anywhere they like or would love to help and encourage.
