Netflix would like to significantly increase their anime offerings this year. At AnimeJapan 2021 it was announced that around 40 new films and series will be released within the next few months. That would almost double the number of anime. The new titles include “Shaman King” and “Edens Zero”. These will start this season. Furthermore, the “Record of Ragnaroc” series was only announced today. This will be on 21. June 2021 released.
Target of Netflix is to attract new viewers in Asia, since the peak has already been reached in North America. The chief anime producer Taiki Sakurai of Netflix said “We want to be proud to be the top entertainment destination with good quality content.
