“#NYC administered record 478K COVID vaccine shots last week”
New York City administered a record 478,000 COVID-19 vaccine shots last week, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday, calling the figure a “great number.”
“If you talk about a recovery for all of us, this is exactly what we’ve been saying we want to do to reach that half-million-a-week number,” de Blasio said during a City Hall press briefing.
The mayor said the Big Apple is “on the verge” of inoculating half-a-million New Yorkers per week.
“We’re ready to do more, we just need the [vaccine] supply. It’s all about supply, supply, supply,” de Blasio said. “We are proving every day we got the capacity, we got the demand.”

Since coronavirus vaccination efforts began in mid-December, the city has administered a total of 3,840,976 doses and de Blasio says the Big Apple will hit the 4 million shot mark this week.
“This is really fantastic progress,” said Hizzoner.

De Blasio noted that New York soon expects a “major boost” in vaccine supply “and that’s going to allow us to get to whole new levels.”
“We are well on our way to our goal” of vaccinating 5 million New Yorkers by June, de Blasio said.
