We say: Even Silly Putty can’t stretch as far as this nonsensical New York magazine headline. Yes, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has opposed the monster tax hikes Dems are pushing (including many that would hit all Americans, not just the wealthy) so they can spend trillions more, on top of the $5 trillion in “COVID relief” Washington has already pumped out. Yet how does that equate to being “bent on destroying” Joe Biden’s presidency? In fact, with all the disasters he’s produced in just nine months, Biden is destroying his presidency all by himself.

We say: Can’t the Gray Lady celebrate progress? The paper admits that “for the past five weeks, [COVID] case counts have remained low” among New York City public-school students — with the positivity rate at just 0.25 percent. Yet it can’t resist a bit of fearmongering: The number of kids tested is too low. Vaccinated students aren’t screened at all. Results can take up to three days. Blah, blah, blah. Please. There have been no outbreaks in the schools, and, indeed, the whole city (and the nation) has clearly turned the corner. Stop scaring people to get clicks and move on.
