It’s been almost a year since it was announced that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners‘ Lucy would join the roster of GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-. For those hankering for any further news on the collaboration, the upcoming GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- : Developer Session panel at Anime Expo 2025 might be your only recourse for the moment.
Per Anime Expo’s announcement, the GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- panel will feature discussions about bringing the stylish netrunner to the fighting game, as well as “behind-the-scenes insight.” Partaking in those discussions will be GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- producer Ken Miyauchi and CD Projekt Red Japan Country Manager/Cyberpunk: Edgerunners producer Satoru Honma. A “special guest host” and a raffle are also teased.
The panel will be held on July 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center’s Petree Hall from 3:45 PM to 5:05 PM. Anime Expo 2025 will run from July 3 to July 6.
The Trigger-produced, Hiroyuki Imaishi-directed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was first released on Netflix in 2022, but it still continues to appear in the news cycle from time to time. 2024 saw the opening pre-orders for an epic statue depicting popular supporting character Rebecca and the cyborg Adam Smasher, the launch of the prequel manga Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS (which follows Rebecca and her brother), and the announcement of a Blu-ray release.
The anime was inspired by the Cyberpunk 2077 open-world RPG from CD Projekt Red, which is set in the world of the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG created by Mike Pondsmith.
