Outdoor Voices is back in the game — and with founder Ty Haney is back with the “Doing Things” brand.

Known for disrupting the activewear industry with its cool-girl approach, the cult-favorite brand has debuted its first drop of women’s and men’s collections under its relaunch with Haney at the helm. The new womenswear ($18 to $148) comprises OV’s signature three-tone leggings alongside colorful workout tops and bottoms, athletic dresses, trail-ready zip-off pants, cropped cashmere cardigans in candy hues and even a Y2K-coded hoodie with the brand’s motto spelled in crystals. Men’s silhouettes include T-shirts, shorts, pants and everyday hooded sweaters.

The revamped label offers sweat-ready materials such as super-soft Bubble Wrap (designed for low-impact movement), lightweight TechSweat (a “silky-soft” fabric for high-impact movement), breathable CloudKnit (best for lounging), the outdoors-minded RecTrek (a water-repellent material with four-way stretch) and — last, but not least — OV’s original two-tone Textured Compression.

Most items are available now, while others are available for preorder for delivery from Aug. 11 through Sept. 22.

Outdoor Voices

Haney returned to Outdoor Voices in June 2024 when she joined Consortium Brands in acquiring the brand. This time around, the 35-year-old is also a partner and co-owner of the brand she founded in 2013 after graduating from Parsons School of Design. (The investment management company also owns a majority stake in Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James.)

“Haney will lead product, brand and creative, along with community engagement and activations to help refocus OV’s brand identity and engage with new generations, as well as core consumers who already have a connection to the beloved company,” per a statement.

Outdoor Voices became known for its activewear “kits” that bundled mix-and-match tops and bottoms. Following a slew of funding rounds, in 2017 former J. Crew and Gap ceo Mickey Drexler joined OV as an investor and chairman of the board. The brand also opened stores in Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Denver, Atlanta, Washington, D.C. and other cities.

Haney stepped down as ceo in early 2020, and the New York Times reported that differences in management style was among the factors in the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing last year.
