Skrilla is everywhere right now. His early 2025 hit “6 7” has gone viral for a second time thanks to its ubiquity in TikTok sports highlights edits and an ironic meme about said ubiquity. The Philly rapper has even reached the radar of Natasha Bedingfield, the English singer behind the 2000s pop hit “Unwritten.” “My son keeps saying 6 7,” Bedingfield wrote in the caption of an IG post filmed from her tour bus yesterday (October 1). “Just found out this phrase originates in Philly. I can’t wait for my show at theatre of living arts tonight !!!”
Turns out, that post was a hint: Skrilla was a surprise guest at Bedingfield’s show in Philly, joining her onstage to perform “6 7” while Bedingfield served as his hypewoman. The crowd seems genuinely puzzled about who this person is and why he’s performing a spooky, violent rap song in a bizarre mask. And you know what? That’s perfectly understandable.
Despite the lukewarm reaction, Skrilla came back onstage later to mumble along to “Unwritten” with Bedingfield. This time around they got the elder millennial moshpit they were hoping for.
