A second main trailer, key visual, and ending theme song have been revealed for the upcoming Oh Boy, Was I Wrong About Her TV anime series, which will premiere in Japan on July 6, 2026.
The anime’s ending theme is “Tilt” by voice actress duo harmoe and is highlighted in the new trailer.
Chuanfeng Xu (Apocalypse Hotel Episode 4 director) is directing the anime series , with Deko Akao (May I Ask for One Final Thing?) as series composer and N-Nei Kurahashi (The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten sub-character designer) as character designer. Project No. 9 is handling the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:

- • Shunichi Toki as Hayato Kirishima
- • Miharu Hanai as Himeko Kirishima
- • Natsumi Haruse as Minamo Mitake
- • Fuka Izumi as Saki Murao
The romantic comedy light novel series is written by Yu Hibari and illustrated by Shiso. It was published under Kadokawa Shoten’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint on February 27, 2021 and has released nine volumes as of August 2025. A 10th volume will be released in Japan on July 1, 2026 and an 11th volume will follow on July 31, 2026.
The series began as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro in June 2020. Its Japanese title is Tenko-saki no Seisokaren na Bishojo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osanajimi Datta Ken or Tenbin for short.
A manga adaptation by Kina Oyama was published between September 2021 and June 2025.
Crunchyroll will stream the Oh Boy, Was I Wrong About Her anime series in select countries and territories worldwide, excluding Japan and China. It describes the main premise as:
Seven years after making a childhood promise to always be friends, Hayato is reunited with his formerly tomboyish pal Haruki at a city high school–only now, Haruki has transformed into the girl every guy dreams about! While Haruki’s looks may have changed, with Hayato, she’s still the same pal he remembers. Despite years apart, their promise and feelings remain and deepen into something stronger.
