Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers 2nd Cour Spotlights Ending Theme in New Trailer

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming second cour of Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers, spotlighting its main ending theme song. The second cour is set to begin broadcasting in Japan on July 7, 2026. 

The latest trailer spotlights the previously announced ending theme “Bakemon” by rock band Karanoah. The second cour’s opening theme is “Bad Idenshi” by music group Dannie May.  

Yoichi Fujita (Osomatsu-san Seasons 1-2, Good Luck Girl) is directing the anime series, with Shogo Muto (Thermae Romae live-action movie and Build NEW WORLD: Kamen Rider Grease screenwriter) as series composer and screenwriter, Yuhei Murota (Love Live! co-character designer, Love Live! Sunshine! character designer) as main character designer, Tsukasa Kotobuki (Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin co-character designer) as villain character designer, Hideo Okamoto (Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers yoroi designer) as Yoroi gear draft designer, Takuya Suzuki (Valvrave the Liberator mechanical animation designer) as animation yoroi gear designer, and Hiroyuki Nishimura as main animator. Sunrise is in charge of the animation production. 

Meanwhile, the anime’s voice cast include:

  • Junya Enoki as Kaito Uesugi
  • Ayumu Murase as Hojo Musashi
  • Shunsuke Takeuchi as Yamato Hojo
  • Kentaro Kumagai as Shion

  • Tomoaki Maeno as Gomei
  • Aya Endo as Shimei 
  • Hiroshi Shirokuma as Gaimei  

The first cour aired in Japan from January 2026 to March 2026. 

Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers is the sequel to the 1980s Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers anime series (also known as Ronin Warriors in English). The series follows five young samurai warriors that come together to save humanity after the seal to the demon world was broken. 

The original Yoroi Den Samurai Troopers anime series was created by Hajime Yatate and animated by Sunrise. The series ran from 1988 to 1999 and inspired three OVA series and a manga adaptation. It has also been streamed on Prime Video, Crunchyroll, RetroCrush, and Tubi. Discotek Media previously released the anime series on Blu-ray.

Crunchyroll is streaming the new Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers anime in several countries and territories worldwide, describing the main premise as: 

Long ago, there existed an evil spirit that waged a war to conquer the human world. Defeat drove him back to the realm of darkness, but not before vowing to return and exact his revenge. A thousand years later, the world has all but forgotten the name of Arago, Emperor of Doom. When black clouds smother the bright city lights of Shinjuku, and a sinister laugh drowns out the dying hum of electricity, the people of the world plunge into terror, unprepared for the evil spirit’s return!
