The Digimon franchise has announced a brand new anime series. It was announced on the Digimon official X/Twitter and is scheduled to air in 2027 to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary.
More details about the series and its characters will be announced in the coming months.
Digimon, short for Digital Monsters, is a multimedia franchise that began as a virtual pet in 1997. Since then, the franchise has grown to include anime series, video games, manga, and more.
The first Digimon TV anime series, Digimon Adventure, aired from March 1999 to March 2000 with 54 episodes. Since then, the franchise has had 10 anime projects, including the latest series, DIGIMON BEATBREAK, that began airing on October 5, 2025.
