“Lone Wolf | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Surveillance and found-footage films have been used for scares, for reflections on the digital age, and purely for the fun of piecing together a story from many everyday viewpoints. Jonathan Ogilvie’s LONE WOLF takes Joseph Conrad’s The Secret Agent into a near-future Australia, where the surveillance state can…
“Gritt | TAKE ONE | Rotterdam 2021 Watch Online” Gritt is true to her moniker. The plucky young theatre professional has big dreams for her next devised theatre project, entitled “The White Inflammation.” Modelled on the honesty, passion, and rigour of Artaud’s Theatre of Cruelty, it will delve into Norwegian society, perhaps also the West…
“Aristocrats | TAKE ONE | Rotterdam 2021 Watch Online” ARISTOCRATS (original title SHE IS NOBLE) is an anti-romcom decked out in the trappings of a romance film. “Mass | TAKE ONE | Sundance 2021 Watch Online” Fran Kranz’s intense chamber piece is a devastating and formally accomplished story on the nature of forgiveness, guilt and vindictiveness. “Luzzu | TAKE ONE | Sundance 2021 Watch Online” Alex Camilleri’s feature directorial debut is a melancholy lament on the decline of traditional ways of life. Without romanticising an often difficult daily life, his story of a Maltese fisherman is naturalistic but beautiful. Jesmark (Jesmark Scicluna) fishes using the traditional luzzu boat that has belonged…

However, strange structural and storytelling choices prevent his feature debut feature from being the cryptic curio it wants to be. John (Charlie Shotwell) is a strange and…

“Letter to a Friend | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Palestinian-American artist Emily Jacir writes to her friend concerning her family home, Dar Jacir, as well as the road on which it sits, and the city through which that road travels. LETTER TO A FRIEND is a video essay, a diary and a document, narrated by…
“Nitrate Kisses | TAKE ONE Watch Online” Stories and the histories they create wield an almost incomprehensible power in human culture. They underpin that which is utterly extraneous to survival, yet vital to our humanity. They make mythmaking, complex histories, propaganda, norm-making, and the demonisation of the socially undesirable “other” (which is unfortunately so common…
