A trailer and October broadcast start window for the A Wild Last Boss Appeared! anime’s second season have been revealed. The former includes previews of the newly announced opening song “Melodic Impact” by Suspended 4th, as well as fresh faces whose cast members were also unveiled.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is based on the Earth Star Novel light novel series written by Firehead and illustrated by YahaKo. Season 2’s synopsis reads:
In the year 2800 of the Mizgard calendar, Rufus Mafarl — feared as the Black-Winged Conqueror — faces his final battle against the heroes known as the Seven Heroes. After an intense fight, his reign of domination comes to an end. Though peace seemed to have returned with his sealing, the balance of power collapses, leaving the world threatened by the devilfolk. 200 years later — in a desperate attempt to fight back, humanity summons a new hero. But instead, the overlord Lufas awakens from his long seal!But peace was short-lived, as the collapse of the power balance gave rise to a new threat—devilfolk.
A Wild Last Boss Appeared! was first written as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel that debuted in 2015. Nine light novel volumes were released between 2016 to 2019. There is a manga by Tsubasa Hazuki.

The year is 2800 and Lufas Maphaahl – The Black-Winged Tyrant, Great Conqueror, and leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars – has returned. A man wakes up in the body of his MMO character 200 years after her defeat during an player-made event in the game, Exgate Online. Now, he’s stuck in her body. But this isn’t a game, it’s real. With her reign long over, and her legacy one of fear, Lufas must journey through the world of Exgate, looking for answers, possible comrades, and all the monsters her “death” unleashed upon the world…
