KOEI TECMO has revealed a December 10 release date for the Attack on Titan 3 game.
The upcoming action title also received previews of its gameplay and the various bonuses offered for pre-ordering or getting one of the more expensive editions. The latter are:
• Early purchase — Wings of Freedom Hoodie cosmetic
• Digital pre-order bonus — Wings of Freedom Earrings cosmetic
• SteelBook launch edition — ICONART (reversible print), Wings of Freedom Choker and Wings of Freedom Gloves DLC cosmetics
• Digital Deluxe Edition — Character Customization Pack (three costumes and seven creator parts), Original Equipment Pack, digital official artbook, Starter Item Pack, 72-hour early access (Nintendo Switch 2 exempted)
The Character Customization Pack takes inspiration from the Attack on School Castes content, with the costumes being the Everyday Outfit for Eren, the Goth Outfit for Mikasa, and the Geek Outfit for Armin. For the other packs that come with the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Original Equipment Pack grants a Wings of Freedom set of parts, while the Starter Item Pack provides the Veteran Artifact: Artifact Officer Squad Leader’s Artifact, which “slightly increases the performance of Scout Artifacts dropped by Titans and makes them a bit easier to obtain.”
Those items will be available on their own via the Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack.
Attack on Titan 3 is coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam, with the latter being digital-only. The sequel to 2016’s Attack on Titan/A.O.T. Wings of Freedom and 2018’s Attack on Titan 2 Final Battle will depict the Attack on Titan story “from beginning to end.” Like 2016’s Attack on Titan/A.O.T. Wings of Freedom and 2018’s Attack on Titan 2 Final Battle, KOEI TECMO’s Omega Force division is the developer.
Last month, it was announced that Attack on Titan 3 will have a MAPPA-produced opening animation directed by Arifumi Imai (Ranking of Kings assistant director), an action animation director and animator for the WIT STUDIO-produced Attack on Titan seasons, and a storyboard artist and key animator for Attack on Titan: The Final Season – The Final Chapters Special 2. The opening will be added after launch.
