A massive gas explosion tore through a Baltimore neighborhood early Monday, killing one woman and leaving several others seriously injured, according to reports.

Firefighters have plucked at least three people from the debris, all in critical condition, after the Monday morning blast near Reisterstown Plaza, WBFF-TV in Baltimore reported.

The explosion, reported shortly before 10 a.m., ripped through three homes, leveling at least one, damaged several homes and leveled at least one, with Baltimore Gas and Electric now on the scene as well, the Baltimore Sun said.

Rescue workers have been able to communicate with at least one person who remains trapped in the rubble, the outlet reported.

Additional fire and rescue crews have been dispatched to the scene, the Sun said, with the investigation into the exact cause underway.

City Special Rescue Operations crews remain at the site searching for more survivors.
