“Bill Maher blasts Billie Eilish for stolen land Grammy Awards speech”

“Real Time” Bill Maher tore into singer Billie Eilish for “virtue signaling” after she used her Grammys acceptance speech to say there are “no illegals on stolen land.”
“She said, ‘It’s hard to know what to say,’” Maher said on his Friday night HBO show.
“Which I wouldn’t say. Then don’t say anything – because you don’t know things. So you didn’t go to school, I don’t think. And you don’t know facts,” he said of the 24-year-old singer, who was homeschooled by her parents throughout her entire education.
“What’s the practical next step if you say there is no such thing as illegal people on stolen land?” Maher wondered. “Do we just go back to living in teepees?”
The “Bad Guy” singer took home Song of the Year for “Wildflower.”
She was one of a string of stars who used the Grammy’s to tear into President Trump and ICE.
“I feel really hopeful in this room, and I feel like we need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting. Our voices really do matter, and the people matter,” she said. “And f— ICE, that’s all I’m gonna say, sorry,” she added.
Eilish, who won Song of the Year at the Feb. 1 award show went viral after it was revealed her $3 million California home was on land historically belonging to the Tongva tribe.
The tribe has since asked for Eilish’s house.
Maher likened Eilish’s remarks to the hateful anti-Israel chant “From the river to the sea,” which is routinely heard at “Free Palestine” protests.
“The people of Los Angeles will not move, and neither will all Israelis from Gaza,” Maher said.
