Amazon Prime Video has unveiled a host of new faces for its upcoming music drama The Runarounds.
Joining the fictional YA drama from Outer Banks’ creator Jonas Pate about a post-high school band trying to make it big is Brooklyn Decker, Maximo Salas, Marley Aliah, Hayes MacArthur, Mark Wystrach and Shea Pritchard.
They join the Skydance Television series previously announced real-life band’s members—William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher—along with Lilah Pate and Kelley Pereira.
The Runarounds follows a tight-knit group of young people forming a rock band the summer after high school graduation, and having to choose between accepting the pressures of real life or risking everything to become the greatest band of all time. The series is not a spinoff of Outer Banks, even if the real group of the same name was previously featured in a season three episode of the popular YA series on Netflix.
The Runarounds was formed as a band in 2021, when Pate issued a casting call for a group to appear on Outer Banks. The new drama like Outer Banks will be set and shot in Wilmington, North Carolina. Skydance Television is the studio and the series will premiere globally on Prime Video.
The Runarounds, written by David Wilcox, becomes the sixth Skydance TV show at Amazon, joining Reacher, Jack Ryan, Cross, an action-adventure series starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, and a recently announced docuseries chronicling the Idaho Murders.
The Runarounds is executive produced by Pate, Wilcox, Joon Yun, Josh Pate, Shannon Burke, Lisa Mae Fincannon, Scott Lambert, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell.
