“Bystander hit by stray bullet in broad daylight NYC shooting”
A 55-year-old man was struck in the chest by a stray bullet in broad daylight while driving in Brooklyn, police said Thursday.
The victim was going north on Rochester Avenue and crossing the Eastern Parkway intersection in Crown Heights in a van just before 4 p.m. Wednesday when bullets flew, cops said.
Police believe the shooter was walking with a woman when he spotted four males and opened fire at them — but hit the passing driver instead.

The bullet instead flew through the uninvolved driver’s window, police said.
The motorist was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect ran off and fled into the Crown Heights-Utica Avenue subway station.
Cops released surveillance images showing him inside the station — and described him as a male in his 20s, with a dark complexion, thin build and large, black hair.
He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black bubble jacket with a “The North Face” logo on the front left chest.
