“Crunchyroll Expo Announces Additional Guests & Full Musical Fest Lineup Headlined by SiM “
Crunchyroll has announced the full artist lineup for its New Crunchy City Music Fest at this year’s Crunchyroll Expo. They have also revealed that Japanese guests from animation studios MAPPA and BONES will also be attending the convention.
Rock metal band SiM (which stands for “Silence iz Mine”) will perform as a headlining act on August 6, 2022. This will be their first U.S performance in more than seven years. The band previously performed “The Rumbling,” used as the opening theme for Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2.
In addition to SiM, the New Crunchy City Music Fest will also feature special musical performances from Sevenn, Young Bombs, Shihori, and James Landino. Rock band Burnout Syndromes and pop group ATARASHII GAKKO! are also performing at the music festival. Sevenn, Landino, Shihori, and ATARASHII GAKKO! will perform on August 5. SiM and Young Bombs will perform on August 6. Lastly, Burnout Syndromes will close the festival out as the final headliner on August 7.
VTuber talent management agency PRISM Project will also have twelve of their talents host the three-day music event, alongside Crunchyroll mascot Hime. Set times for each musical act will be announced soon at a later date. Crunchyroll Expo attendees will have exclusive free access with their purchased tickets to the New Crunchy City Music Fest.
Meanwhile, the additional Japanese guests for Crunchyroll Expo include MAPPA CEO Manabu Ootsuka (Banana Fish, Yuri!! On ICE), MAPPA executive producer and right management director Makoto Kimura, and BONES co-founder and president Masahiko Minami. Minami, in particular, will join Crunchyroll Expo attendees in the exclusive world premiere of the first two episodes of Mob Psycho 100 III.

Finally, Crunchyroll-Hime’s Cosplay Cup will also be returning to Crunchyroll Expo this year, with Mario Bueno and Vampy Bit Me as hosts. The event will feature over 40 cosplay creators from across the U.S. Canada, Brazil, Ireland, Chile, and the Netherlands.
