A main trailer for dodge ball anime Hono no Tokyuji: Dodge Danko has been released. Also revealed were its July 6 broadcast start date, opening song, and more cast members.
Momorio Clover Z‘s “Kaishin no Ichigeki” will serve as Dodge Danko‘s opening song, and is previewed in the trailer with the previously announced ending song “Welcome to Azatosa World” by i☆Ris.
Meanwhile, the newly announced voice actors are Sumire Uesaka as Hako Mikasa, Kanna Nakamura as Hayami Miura, Yuka Iguchi as Jyuri Igarashi, Satomi Akesaka as Ruka Sakamoto, Fairouz Ai as Zoe, and Mariya Ise as Ran Mido.
Dodge Danko is based on Tetsuhiro Koshita‘s Reiwa era-set sequel to his previous Hono no Toukyuji Dodge Danpei manga. The protagonist, Danko, is the daughter of the original’s Danpei.
The Dodge Danko manga started serialization in November 2022 in Shogakukan’s Weekly Corocoro Comic and has six volumes as of August 2025.
Hono no Toukyuji Dodge Danpei debuted in 1989 and has its own anime. There are several Dodge Danpei video games.
