The fifth teaser trailer for Expelled from Paradise: Resonance has been released, showing off more of the main cast’s experiences on Earth and their opponents. At the end, Ayane Sakura‘s Gabriel is seen on all fours as a mysterious masked individual stops beside her.
The new preview was accompanied by the anime film’s fifth teaser visual and the proper reveal of the fifth main cast member, the Agent Penem. Sumire Morohoshi is voicing the character and can be heard in the new teaser trailer.
Expelled from Paradise: Resonance (Rakuen Tsuiho -Kokoro no Resonance-) is the sequel to 2014’s Expelled from Paradise, with the plot seeing several Agents from the virtual society DEVA being sent after a deserter faction called the Fallen on Earth. The Fallen are linked to the events of the first film, where previous main protagonist Angela Balzac (who gets a name drop in the teaser) rebelled against DEVA.
Returning from the first film are director Seiji Mizushima, scriptwriter Gen Urobuchi, and character designer Masatsugu Saito. Toei Animation is handling the animation production this time instead of Graphinica.
Starring alongside Sakura and Morohoshi are Saori Hayami as Arma, Yoshino Aoyama as Daniel, and Sally Amaki as Raguel. Aside from Amaki’s environmental researcher, all are also playing Agents.
The original Expelled from Paradise film introduced a future setting where most of mankind has become digitized and reside in DEVA. Its plot saw Agent Angela Balzac being sent to a ruined Earth in a physical body after a hacker infiltrates this supposed paradise.
Another sequel, in the form of a visual novel titled Expelled from Paradise -The Stellar Angel-, will be released on Steam and Nintendo Switch globally this winter with English support.
Expelled from Paradise: Resonance will begin screening in Japan on November 13, 2026.
