A “first look” trailer for Gachiakuta Season 2 has been released on YouTube, following earlier screenings at Anime Expo 2026 and Taiwan’s 25th Comic Exhibition.
The second season of the shonen action anime was announced in December 2025. Its release window is still unknown.
Gachiakuta‘s first season premiered on July 6 and ran for two cours. The synopsis reads:
Rudo lives in the slums of a floating town, where the poor scrape by under the shadow of the rich who live a sumptuous life, simply casting their garbage off the side, into the abyss. Then one day, he’s falsely accused of murder, and his wrongful conviction leads to an unimaginable punishment—exile off the edge, with the rest of the trash. Down on the surface, the cast-off waste of humanity has bred vicious monsters, and if Rudo wants to have any hope of discovering the truth and seeking vengeance against those who cast him into Hell, he will have to master a new power and join a group known as the Cleaners who battle the hulking trash beasts of the Pit!
Fumihiko Suganuma (Train to the End of the World chief episode director, T.P Bon Episode 6 storyboard artist and director) directed the anime at BONES FILM. Aoi Ichikawa voiced main protagonist Rudo.
Gachiakuta is based on the manga by Kei Urana (with graffiti art by Hideyoshi Ando). The manga, a Shonen Category finalist in the 47th and 48th Kodansha Manga Award, debuted in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022 and has 19 volumes as of July 2026. Kodansha USA publishes it in English.
The anime’s first season received heavy promotion by Crunchyroll, which partnered with Kodansha, Avex, and Bones to organize a global “Gachiakuta World Takeover” campaign that included screening events, graffiti murals, and activations.
An action RPG based on the anime is set to be released for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
