Die gamescom LAN 2026 is becoming more and more a fixed event for the gaming community. At this year’s event in Cologne there was a… 4,000 participants, a new visitor record set up. The trend among creators is also clearly upwards: 225 Influencer:innen were on site and accompanied the event together with their communities.
TCGs continue to grow
Trading card games have also become increasingly important at this year’s gamescom LAN. So put Riftbound With 168 participants, it was one of the largest tournaments at the event. It was surpassed by Yu-Gi-Oh!. With 234 participants in the WCQ Regional, the TCG even set the record for the event’s largest tournament Lorca attracted at least 156 players to the tables.
This shows that the gamescom LAN has long been more than just gaming on the PC – it is increasingly becoming a platform for a wide variety of gaming subcultures.
The next one gamescom LAN finds from February 19-21, 2027 instead of. Before that, the one will follow this summer gamescom 2026 from the August 26th to 30th in Cologne.
