A third main trailer and main visual have been released for the upcoming original anime Goodbye, Lara. The trailer includes a preview of the newly announced ending song “Hearts Glow” by Hana Hope and some surreal sights.
It was also revealed that Minami Tsuda is voicing Lisa, Lara’s fourth older sister, while Kazutomi Yamamoto is voicing the character Kota, whom often accompanies Lisa.
Goodbye, Lara will begin airing on July 5 at 24:30 JST (effectively July 6 at 00:30). The premise sees Lara surfacing in Shiga Prefecture’s Lake Biwa and becoming housemates with teenage boxer Mari Otsu. 200 years before the main story, Lara fell love with a human prince and consumed a witch’s potion to become human herself. Alas, failing to find true love results in a side effect, causing Lara to turn into bubbles.
Goodbye, Lara is the 15th anniversary project of animation production studio Kinema Citrus. It is also the series directorial debut of Shiga native Takushi Koide (assistant director, revue costume designer, weapon designer, and more on Revue Starlight and its movie sequel).
Some of the staff include character designer Shiori Tani (Revue Starlight prop designer, Revue Starlight the Movie co-main animator and animation director et al. and series composer Anna Kawahara (Ashita, Watashi wa Dareka no Kanojo live-actiond rama co-writer). Hana Hishikawa voices Lara, while Nana Kawaishi is Mari.
The anime had its US premiere at Anime Central 2026. Crunchyroll will stream it during the Summer 2026 anime season.
