Google Search Console Platform properties are now globally live

Plus, Google released new help documentation on how to analyze the social and video data.

Google has now rolled out the Platform properties feature globally to all Google Search Console accounts. This feature lets you track the performance of your social media and video content platforms in Google Search.

Google Search Console platform properties is a way to see how well your social and video content is performing within Google Search. Google will let you see the performance of your content on Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube performs on Google Search.

What is new. Google announced this morning that this feature is now available to all globally. Google said:

  • “Earlier this month, we announced platform properties for Search Console, allowing you to track how your social and video posts on Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube perform on Google Search, Discover, and Google News. Today, platform properties are globally available to everyone.”

New help document. Google also released a new help document to help you understand the data in these reports. Google said, “we’re also publishing a new guide on how to analyze your social and video content performance.” This explains how to understand your search audience, find trending content, analyze that content across platforms, optimize existing content and compare formats.

Why we care. Previously, Google has not given us a real way to see how our content performs on domains/properties we do not own. But now, we are going to have access to see how our content performs of domains/properties we do not have developer access to.

So dig in and start exploring your content on these third-party platforms.
