Hanashi Media Licenses The New Gate & Re:Monster Light Novel Series

Hanashi Media announced on its official Twitter/X account and Discord that it has licensed two new fantasy light novel series: Re:Monster and The New Gate. The first volume of both series will debut digitally on October 30, 2025, with pre-orders for both titles now available. 

Here are the details for the new light novel series: 

Re:Monster

The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation by Haruyoshi Kobayakawa in March 2014, which is being released in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, and a light novel sequel series in July 2018. 

The series also received a 12-episode TV anime adaptation in 2024 from Studio Deen. Crunchyroll streamed the series worldwide as it aired in Japan. 

Synopsis: 

Stabbed by a stalker and left for dead, Gobrou awoke to find himself reborn as the weakest of creatures-a lowly goblin. But with the mysterious Absorption Skill, a power that lets him grow stronger by consuming what he defeats, he rapidly evolved beyond all reason. In no time, he had clawed his way to the top of the goblin community.

The New Gate

The light novel series inspired a manga adaptation by Yoshiyuki Miwa in November 2014, with One Peace Books releasing it in English. It is also published in English digitally on Alphapolis’ Alpha Manga service. 

A 12-episode TV anime series from Cloud Hearts and Yokohama Animation Laboratory was released in 2024. 

Synopsis: 

In the deepest level of the dungeon known as the Gate of the Otherworld, Shin was locked in battle. His opponent: the final boss of THE NEW GATE, a VRMMO that had transformed into a deadly death game.
