“#John Jay college student deletes tweet that ‘doxxed’ NYC officials”
June 30, 2020 | 4:11pm
Aaron Narraph Ferrando tweeted the information amid what one council member told The Post was a campaign to de-fund the NYPD through the city budget by contacting officials via phone calls, text messages and even home visits.
“Call like crazy if you haven’t been able to reach them yet,” Ferrando tweeted at 10:30 a.m.
In an email to The Post, Ferrando defended his actions, saying, “I did not post the physical address of a single elected official.”
“All I did was pass on alternative phone numbers from another source that constituents could use to reach their representatives,” he wrote.
“Most city council members (including my own) are not answering their office phones on the day of an extremely important vote to defund the NYPD, so this is unfortunately our only option to get answers.”
But Ferrando, who attends John Jay through the Macaulay Honors College scholarship program, later reversed course and deleted his tweet shortly before 1:30 p.m.
He sarcastically congratulated the City Council for the move, saying, “I’ve gotten countless calls and messages from folks telling me how upset they are, including from a Post reporter saying the NYPD has been involved.”
“They’re elected officials with power. I’m 19,” he added.
