In Japan, where it premiered on July 18, it has yet to best the over 40 billion yen gross of 2020’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train, remaining as the country’s second-highest-grossing film of all time with ~37.9 billion yen (~US$244.98 million).
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle is the first in a trilogy of movies that will close the Demon Slayer saga with a series of final battles. The Demon Slayer anime began in 2019 with a first TV season, and is based on the Shueisha-published manga by Koyoharu Gotouge.
