A TV anime adaptation of Shinobu Kaitani‘s LIAR GAME manga is coming in 2026. A teaser trailer and key visual have been released.
The staff lineup includes:
• Chief director: Yuzo Sato (The Gene of AI director)
• Director: Asami Kawano (The Vampire Dies In No Time assistant director)
• Series composition and screenwriter: Tatsuhiko Urahata (Baki Hanma)
• Character designer: Kei Tsuchiya (Trillion Game)
• Sound director: Kisuke Koizumi (Trillion Game, My Happy Marriage)
• Animation production: Madhouse
The LIAR GAME manga started in Shueisha’s Young Jump in 2005 and released its sixth and final volume in 2014. The setup sees a university student getting an invitation to join the LIAR GAME, along with 100 million yen, leading to her embroilment in a game of deceit and money.
The manga has Inspired a Japanese TV drama and South Korean series.
