“#loundraw’s Summer Ghost Movie Gets November 12 Premiere, First Trailer”
The upcoming Summer Ghost movie which was announced in February has received its first trailer and a November 12 release date. The movie is directed by illustrator loundraw and produced by his company, FLAT Studio.
The staff includes author Otsuichi as scriptwriter and Akira Kosemura as music composer, with loundraw responsible for the original character designs and the original concept for the film. The only cast member confirmed so far is Chiaki Kobayashi (Great Pretender‘s Makoto Edamura).
Summer Ghost follows troubled high schoolers Tomoya Sugisaki, Aoi Harukawa, and Ryo Kobayashi, who become acquainted through the internet. The three teens wish to meet the “Summer Ghost,” an urban legend with the ghostly form of a young woman who is said to appear when there are fireworks.
The movie is part of loundraw’s Project Common multimedia project and is his directorial debut. loundraw was recently credited with the original character designs for Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-.
Prior to founding FLAT Studio, loundraw was an illustrator who debuted in 2013 by contributing to the cover of the novel Hoshi no Nemuru Mizuumi e -Ai wo Sagashi Ni-. He later contributed to works like I Want To Eat Your Pancreas and Kimi wa Tsukiyo ni Hikari Kagayaku.
FLAT Studio has previously produced several shorts including Ichiban Chikakute Tooi Hoshi, which was a collaboration between Summer Ghost and the Z-Kai education group.
