#Man stabs NYC straphanger with screwdriver during robbery attempt

A brute pummeled a Queens straphanger and stabbed him with a screwdriver when he refused to hand over his wallet this week, cops said.

A 42-year-old man was standing on the Manhattan-bound platform of the Sutphin Boulevard station around 4:30 p.m. Monday when a stranger went up to him and demanded cash, according to police.

The victim reluctantly handed over $5 before both men boarded a train, police sources said.

But then the suspect wanted more — the victim’s wallet, according to the sources.

When the victim refused, the other man repeatedly punched him in the head, causing swelling and bleeding.

He also stabbed him in the right arm with a screwdriver, cutting him, according to police.

The attacker bolted from the train at the next stop, Briarwood, cops said.

A surveillance image shows him hopping over the turnstile at that station. He was still at large Tuesday.
