“#Mike Pence reacts to ‘radical’ new VP opponent Kamala Harris”

Speaking at a Latter-day Saints for Trump campaign event in Arizona Tuesday, the vice president remarked to the crowd that, “On the way here I learned that Joe Biden named his running mate,” a comment that was met with boos.
“As you all know, Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have been overtaken by the radical left. So given their promises of higher taxes, open borders, socialized medicine and abortion on demand, it’s no surprise that he chose Sen. Harris,” he continued.
“You all might like to know that the vice presidential debate is on Oct. 7 in Utah. So my message to the Democratic nominee for vice president: Congratulations. I’ll see you in Salt Lake City.”
Pence’s remarks were his first public comments since Harris (D-Calif.) was officially tapped as presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s vice-presidential pick.
President Trump also offered his thoughts on Harris Tuesday after she officially joined the Democratic ticket.
“She was my No. 1 draft pick,” the commander-in-chief told reporters at a White House press conference when asked how he felt about the California Democrat’s selection.
“I was surprised” that Biden picked her “because she did so poorly” in the primary race, he added.
Trump went on to slam Harris’ treatment of Biden during last year’s Democratic primary, saying that, “She was probably nastier than Pocahontas to Joe Biden,” a reference to his preferred nickname for fellow 2020 Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).
“[Harris] was very, very nasty…to Joe Biden. She was very disrespectful to Joe Biden. She said things during the debates…that were horrible about ‘Sleepy Joe,’ and I would think he wouldn’t have picked [her],” he said.
Still, Trump argued, “I think Joe knows even less than she does.”
