“One Piece Film Red Delivers Halloween Greeting from Uta”
The One Piece Film Red Twitter account has released a short Halloween message video that features the songstress Uta wishing viewers “Happy Halloween.”
The five-second video depicts Uta with vampire fangs and has her making her entrance and Halloween greeting with confidence and gusto before getting spooked by ghosts.
One Piece Film Red premiered in Japan on August 6 and is currently the ninth highest-grossing film in the country with 17.36 billion yen (~US$117.7 million). Uta, voiced by Kaori Nazuka and Ado (singing parts), was introduced into the One Piece universe with the movie.
The film’s premise is described as:
Uta — the most beloved singer in the world. Her voice, which she sings with while concealing her true identity, has been described as “otherworldly.” She will appear in public for the first time at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans — excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance — the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is “Shanks’ daughter.”
Gorou Taniguchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;Surrection, One Piece: Taose! Kaizoku Gyanzakku) directed the movie with Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film: Gold, GANTZ:O) as scriptwriter, Masayuki Satou (One Piece Film Strong World character designer and animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda as general producer and original story creator.
