A TV anime adaptation of the Overgeared webtoon (itself an adaptation) is coming in October 2026. A teaser trailer and teaser visual have been revealed.
Ayaka Kono (Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night) is directing the anime at J.C.STAFF. Other staff include Kenta Ihara (Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs) as series composer and Ryosuke Tanigawa as character designer.
The Overgeared anime will star Tatsumaru Tachibana as Grid and Asami Seto as Yura.
The webtoon is based on the webnovel by Saenal and features art by Team Argo (Monohumbug is credited with the adaptation). Tapas provides the following synopsis:
Shin Youngwoo (a.k.a. Grid), an unlucky man in life and a low-level player in the popular VR game “Satisfy,” finds a powerful item that earns him a rare legendary class title: “Pagma’s Successor.” He’s now a skilled blacksmith who can forge unique weapons and equip the game’s most powerful gear. Grid resolves to use his new abilities to achieve fame and fortune, but as his very existence begins to stir up trouble in Satisfy, he realizes that life as a legend may be more than he bargained for….
