A Paradox Live the Animation movie has been announced. It’ll feature the BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez, Akan Yatsura, and Buraikan bands from the TV anime, as well as new additions VISTY, AMPRULE, 1Nm8, and GokuLuck.
STUDIO GRAPH77 is handling the animation production for the movie.
Paradox Live the Animation is part of Avex and Gcrest‘s Paradox Live media mix project, which was launched in early 2020. The project includes music releases, live events, goods and collaborations, and stage plays.
Crunchyroll’s synopsis for the TV anime reads:
Saturated in hip hop culture comes the birth of a new movement known as “Phantom Live ”. Each of the artists have a metal accessory known as “Phantom Metal” which chemically reacts to the wearer’s emotions to produce an image, setting a magnificent stage for enthusiastic youths.
With legendary club “CLUB paradox” hosting the mysterious Paradox Live, four teams: BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez and Akanyatsura each receive an invitation to participate, each with their own genre of music in a race to the top.
Each of the four teams go into the competition for a reason. As the competition heats up, so do the unimaginably large motives each of them hides…
The curtain now rises on a swirling illusory stage battle between light and darkness–!
Paradox Live the Animation was directed by Naoya Andou (Kemono Friends 2 assistant director, “Hi-DRIVERS!” music video) at PINE JAM. Ando was recently the director of the STUDIO GRAPH77-produced Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 short “Shikaku.”
Other staff members included Takayo Ikami (Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation) as series composer and Koji Haneda (Scared Rider Xechs) as character designer.
