A second trailer for Patlabor the Case Files, an upcoming Mobile Police Patlabor action game for PlayStation 5 and Steam, has been released. The brief preview shows more mech melee combat, a bit of target practice, and a section where the player appears to pilot a Hellhound helicopter. It also reveals a summer 2026 release window.
In addition, publisher Good Smile Company announced the start of pre-orders for the PS5-only physical edition. This special edition includes an exclusive MODEROID Griffon the Case Files: Color Ver. model and the game’s soundtrack in CD form.
Patlabor the Case Files covers “numerous iconic scenes” from the Mobile Police Patlabor series, with the ability to play as the antagonists in the Another Side Missions. It has mechanical supervision from Yutaka Izubuchi (Patlabor mechanical designer), script supervision from Kazunori Ito (.hack//SIGN, Patlabor The Mobile Police: The Early Days screenwriter), and character art supervision from Akemi Takada (Patlabor The Mobile Police: The Early Days and Kimagure Orange Road character designer).
Chime Corporation is developing the game, which includes English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean subtitle options.
In a few days, the first part of a new Mobile Police Patlabor anime, Patlabor EZY, will debut in Japanese theaters on May 15.
