The car’s 27-year-old female passenger was injured but survived; police did not immediately identify the dead man or injured woman.
Cops responded to a 911 call of a collision at 232nd Street and South Conduit Avenue in Laurelton at 10 a.m. and found the unconscious, unresponsive driver with head trauma and the passenger with chest and back injuries.
Police said the man was driving the car eastbound on South Conduit when “he passes a cement truck and then the truck rear-ends the Ford Fusion, which loses control and slams into a pole,” an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The 32-year-old cement truck driver was not injured and remained at the scene, police said.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at Franklin General Hospital and the woman was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition, police said.
