The former cop, Staten Island resident Dwayne Chandler, was arraigned in Queens criminal court Thursday for the shooting inside the restaurant on Cross Bay Boulevard in Howard Beach earlier this week, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.
Judge Danielle Hartman set bail at $20,000 bond or $10,000 cash, according to Katz.
“This kind of gun violence is unacceptable, particularly when the shooter is alleged to be a retired member of service. The defendant will now be held accountable for his alleged actions,” Katz said in a statement.
Chandler, 52, allegedly opened fire at the restaurant, Frenasia, at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday night after a man he was fighting with swung a chair at him, sources previously told The Post.
But he missed and instead struck an uninvolved man in the lower back. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.
