The anime classic “Ranma 1/2”, known from RTL2, is getting a new edition in Japan.
As announced today on X, a new anime series for «Ranma 1/2» is in the works. The project has so far only been briefly described as a “completely new anime adaptation”, and there is no further information at this time. However, additional details are to be announced on July 17, 2024.
The original «Ranma 1/2» anime series celebrated its German premiere in April 2002 as part of the anime program on RTL2 and quickly became a big hit in Germany. In Japan, the anime series ran from 1989 to 1992. Of the total of 161 episodes, only 80 were dubbed into German and broadcast in Germany. The manga series, written by Rumiko Takahashi (including «InuYasha»), was published in Japan from 1987.
The series was released on DVD in Germany via Anime-Virtual (now Crunchyroll). However, all copies are now sold out.
