The upcoming Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Star Detective Precure! the Movie: The Mysterious Garden and The Secret of the Two) has gotten a main trailer, following last month’s reveal of its main visual. A new still was also released.
The Star Detective Precure! film’s plot will feature three movie-original characters in the form of the girl Karin and the fairies Fran and Rain. The premise involves an X-mark that renders objects immobile and a request from Rain to protect Karin, who resides in a mysterious garden, from a creature called “Dame dame.”
Characters from You and Idol Precure! and Wonderful Precure! will be part of the movie as well.
Hanako Ueda (Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead assistant director) is directing Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu with character designs from Emiko Miyamoto (Witchy Precure!) and a script by Yoshimi Narita (Wonderful Precure! series composer).
The Star Detective Precure! TV anime began airing in Japan on February 1 as the Pretty Cure franchise’s 23rd entry. The synopsis from Crunchyroll reads:
On her 14th birthday, Anna Akechi meets a magical fairy and suddenly time-slips from 2027 to 1999! There, she befriends Mikuru, a spirited girl who dreams of becoming a detective. When mysterious thefts stir rumors of the Phantom Thieves, the two transform into Detective Precure, using courage, deduction, and friendship to solve cases and uncover the secret of Anna’s journey through time.
The TV series has Koji Kawasaki as series director with Isao Murayama (Mahotsukai Precure!) as series composer and Akane Yano (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You) as character designer. Its cast includes Hikari Senga as Cure Answer/Anna Akechi, Kaede Hondo as Cure Mystic/Mikuru Kobayashi, and Nao Toyama as Cure Arcana Shadow/Ruruka Moria.
The Pretty Cure franchise began with 2004’s Futari wa Precure (Pretty Cure in English).
