A November 27 release date has been revealed for the previously announced Takopi’s Original Sin -Arigato, Mata Ashita- compilation movie.
Takopi’s Original Sin -Arigato, Mata Ashita- also received a promotional video where shots from the 2025 web anime are repurposed to feature a conversation between Shizuka and Takopi about the movie, with Shizuka initially lacking confidence at the possibility of there being one.
Takopi’s Original Sin is an adaptation of the dark sci-fi drama manga by TAIZAN 5. The premise sees the octopus-like alien Takopi, who hails from Happy Planet, attempting to improve the life of the bullied and neglected Shizuka. Due to its naivete and unfamiliarity with humans, it ends up unintentionally causing unforeseen harm, while also revealing to the audience the dark web that entangles the main cast. The theatrical compilation will include scenes not present in the six-episode web anime.
Shinya Ino (Dr. STONE and Dr. STONE STONE WARS director, Made in Abyss assistant director et al.) directed the web anime and was also in charge of its series composition. ENISHIYA handled the animation production and also has a produce cooperation credit. The other production credits include:

• Background art director: Sagako Itakura (“Page of Lambda” opening, “Sore o Ai to Yobu dake” music video)

• Compositing director: Yu Wakabayashi (BLACKFOX, “Page of Lambda” opening)
The main cast features Kurumi Mamiya as Takopi, Reina Ueda as Shizuka, Konomi Kohara as Marina, and Anna Nagase as Azuma.
The Takopi’s Original Sin manga began serialization on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump+ in 2021 and released its second and final volume in 2022. MANGA Plus has it in English.
