“#Tesla driver watching movie while using autopilot crashes into cop car”

Devainder Goli was using the car’s autopilot feature when the collision occurred Wednesday on US 64 near Spring Hope, the Raleigh News and Observer reported.
Goli crashed into a Nash County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s vehicle, which then struck a state trooper’s car, authorities said.
The two officers had been responding to an earlier crash on the side of the highway at the time.
No one was injured in the Telsa crash, though two of the vehicles were totaled, the outlet reported.
“Luckily, the state trooper pushed our deputy out of the way when he heard the tires squall and in an instant we could have lost a life or several lives. It could have been very horrific,” Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone told news station WRAL.
It was determined that Goli, who is a doctor at Halifax Regional Medical Center, had been watching a flick at the time of the incident, officials said. It was not immediately known which film he was watching.
He was charged with violating the move-over law and viewing a television device while driving, the report said.
