Two NYPD officers were punched in the face while trying to collar an accused shoplifter at a Home Depot in Manhattan, police sources said.

The assault unfolded around 10:15 a.m. Friday when the two cops were called to the hardware store on West 23rd Street in Chelsea to arrest the 46-year-old man, who was being held by store security, the sources said.

The man, identified as Ramos Wilberto, became violent when cops tried to slap cuffs on him — and punched both officers in the face, sources said.

The officers were treated at NYU Langone Hospital for cuts and bruises, according to sources.

Wilberto, who sources believe may be homeless, was taken to Bellevue Hospital, the sources said.
