“Wilmer Valderrama Teases Fez’s Return on That ’90s Show: ‘I’d Never Say No'”
Wilmer Valderrama can’t confirm Fez will return but admits he won’t say no if he’s asked to come back for the spinoff.
In a new interview with TV Insider, Fez actor Wilmer Valderrama touched on That ’90s Show. Because of his role on NCIS and his recent casting as the titular character in a Zorro series for Disney, Valderrama feels that his schedule is pretty packed, casting some doubt on a potential appearance as Fez. Be that as it may, the actor also admits that he’s not about to turn down the offer, but it has to come along when there’s an opening in the schedule.
“I’m a little busy now, but I support them so much. I’m rooting for them. I wish them nothing but the best. And if the timing is right, I’d never say no.”
Recently, Valderrama’s co-star Topher Grace, who played Eric Forman on That ’70s Show, had a similar answer when asked about a possible cameo on That ’90s Show. Grace said he was very supportive of Smith and Rupp along with the rest of the team working on the spinoff, but suggested he probably wouldn’t return as he has “a day job,” referring to his starring role in the ABC series Home Economics. When we consider that Grace still found the time to return for the original show’s finale, it seems more likely than not that Eric Forman will show up at one point or another. Mila Kunis, Laura Prepon, and Ashton Kutcher are probably not too far behind, but we shouldn’t bet on a Danny Masterson return.
That ’70s Show followed the lives of six teenagers living in Point Place, Wisconsin, from the mid-to-late 1970s. The series was a big hit for the Fox network and ultimately ran for eight seasons with 200 episodes. There had been a short-lived spinoff dubbed That ’80s Show that came and went in 2002, but it did not include any of the same characters, nor did it achieve the same levels of success.
That ’90s Show Introduces a New Cast of Characters
One of the show’s new lead characters will be another Forman: Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna and Red and Kitty’s granddaughter. She’ll be played by Callie Haverda in the spinoff series. Other cast members include Ashley Aufderheide as Leia’s BFF Gwen; Mace Coronel as charming and flirty Jay; Maxwell Acee Donovan as Jay’s friend and Gwen’s brother Nate; Reyn Doi as their sarcastic, gay friend Ozzie; and Sam Morelos as Nate’s rebellious girlfriend Nikki.
Netflix has not set an official premiere date for That ’90s Show at this time.
