What songs are on Just Dance 4? Ubisoft’s Just Dance series has been going strong for over a decade and recently released its eleventh installment, Just Dance 2020. Titled after the Lady Gaga song of the same name, the Just Dance franchise is a series of rhythm games that sees players judged by their ability to mimic the moves of on-screen dancers boogieing to a range of classic and contemporary pop tunes. Although the games were seen as gimmicky early on in the franchise’s history, it’s longevity and popularity proved naysayers wrong and today Just Dance ranks as the second best-selling Ubisoft franchise after Assassin’s Creed.
Just Dance 4 was released in 2012 and boasted a brand-new feature in the form of its dance battle mode which sees two players go head-to-head in a series of dance-offs. Other new features included unlockable bonus dance routines for certain songs and expansions to its Just Sweat mode which calculates how many calories players burned while dancing.
The game also featured over 40 new songs for players to dance to, including then recent pop songs from the likes of Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and Maroon 5 alongside classics from artists like The B-52s, Elvis Presley, and Stevie Wonder. The Wii U version of Just Dance 4 featured a number of exclusive songs including Jessie J’s “Domino” and a cover of Christina Aguilera’s 2006 hit “Ain’t No Other Man” performed by The Girly Team. Just Dance 4 also offered a range of different songs available as downloadable content for players to bop along too such as PSY’s annoyingly catchy “Gangnam Style,” Kesha’s electro-pop track “We R Who We R” and “The Lazy Song” by Bruno Mars.
Despite its late 2012 release, Just Dance 4 went onto rank as the fifth best-selling game of the year in the United States according to data reported by the NPD Group. Just Dance 4 was also nominated for both Best Family Game at the BAFTA Games Awards and Favorite Video Game as the USA Kids’ Choice Awards, beating the likes of Mario Kart 7 and Wii Sports to scoop the latter. Keeping in line with Ubisoft’s ‘one game per year’ strategy, Just Dance 4 was followed by the release of Just Dance 2014 in late 2013.
