Global Network of Science Communicators – [sic] — Wissenschaftskommunikation

International Network on Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST)The most relevant transnational network of both scholars and practitioners in the “Public Communication of Science and Technology” (PCST) has just become a membership organisation, in the sense of a ‘learned society’. I can strongly recommend considering such a membership (just 30 USD for 2 years), since PCST is certainly by far the most active and professional platform for a professional exchange on issues of communicating science and innovation. Nowhere else but at these biannual conferences (which next time takes place in Brazil, May 2014) do theory and practise meet face-to-face so closely. The network also advocates for discourses about science & technology and their role in society.

57 colleagues from 25 countries had applied for membership in the first week.

UPDATE 16 March:
So far, 118 people have applied to join the PCST Network.  All these applications have been approved. Applicants come from the following 34 countries:
Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malawi, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Portugal, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, South Sudan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, USA

Germany is on the top of the list of members:
Germany, India, Australia, USA, Brazil

And counting.   😉
