#Kumamoto City Prepares to Launch Digimon Collab, Complete with Decorated Buses -BB

Kumamoto City is getting in on the Digimon Adventure action!

Things are wrapping up for the franchise’s 20th anniversary celebration, with next month’s Digimon Adventure: LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna tying up the long-running story of the very first DigiDestined. The city’s own mascot, Kumamon (not to be confused with Digimon’s Kumamon), will be getting in on the action, too.

Kumamoto will be hanging up around 500 posters featuring Agumon and Kumamon in front of Kumamoto Castle, in a pose replicating Tai and Agumon’s on the LAST EVOLUTION poster. The text at the top, appropriately, now reads „Kumamon Adventure.“

Starting February 21, select buses in the area will get a Digimon Adventure makeover. No designs have been released, but we know so far that the interiors will be getting a new look, with a combination of Digimon visuals and local imagery. There will also be a Twitter campaign giving away collaborative goods.

Digimon Adventure: LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna premieres in Japan on February 21, finishing out the long-running story of the first DigiDestined. We won’t be without Tai and his friends for long, though, as a Digimon Adventure reboot is also scheduled to premiere later this year.
