Netflix Grabs the Rights to Stream Beloved Studio Ghibli Films Outside North America and Japan -BB
After it was announced that HBO Max would stream the Studio Ghibli library in North America when the service launches in May 2020, fans of the breathtaking anime studio outside of North America was itching to know when they’d be able to stream the beloved films. On January 19, it was announced that Netflix would be streaming the entire library from Studio Ghibli from February 2020 in three stages outside of North America and Japan.
The Australian and New Zealand Twitter account for Netflix laid the roll-out plan out, specifying that all the films will be released over three months, with all 21 films on the streaming service by April 1.
From February 1 you can expect to see:

My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)
Only Yesterday (1991)
Porco Rosso (1992)
Ocean Waves (1993)
Tales from Earthsea (2006)

Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki said in a statement that “In this day and age, there are various great ways a film can reach audiences. We’ve listened to our fans and have made the definitive decision to stream our film catalog. We hope people around the world will discover the world of Studio Ghibli through this experience.”
Hayao Miyazaki is working on the film How Do I Live? at Studio Ghibli, with 15% of the film completed as of December 18. It hasn’t been announced when the film will be released in cinemas or streaming platforms.
